This is where you can read all about my favorite people or places to go to. Most of those places I have very fond memories of, or the food was excellent, the air was clean or it was just the most beautiful place I ever seen in my life. This section will be updated regularly, so do not forget to come back here every now and then. Enjoy!
1. The Brick Kilns
Norwich Road, Little Plumstead, Norfolk England
The Brick Kilns website
The Brick Kilns was my favorite place to eat diner after a days work and my first encounter with the friendly people of Norfolk on my first day in England. I used to go there often when I worked at Little Plumstead Hospital in 1989 and the years after. I remember I then paid 1 pound and a tuppence for a pint of Yorkshire bitter, I reckon it will be a little bit steeper nowadays. Anyway, if you get a chance go there and enjoy a good meal. Please tell me about it.
Should you run into one of my friends, Judi Arnold, Liz May, Annette Francis, Rod and Sue Townend, Sarah Blake (Blakey), Simon Parsons, Andy Ford, Ruth Wilkinson or anyone else who used to work at Little Plumstead Hospital around 1990: give them my regards. They are the stars in my memories.
2. Tatties of Cambridge
11 Sussex Street, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire England
On our honeymoon the Mrs and I visited lots of places that I went to myself years before. My wife and I had lunch at Tatties of Cambridge on the third day of our honeymoon with a humongous spud filled with Chilli for me and Salmon snippets in sauce for the Mrs Van Gemeren. I remember I had those spuds many times there when I was living in England so I just had to take her there to get that special spud again. Both the place and the quality of the food were still as good as the first time so I recommend it to everyone who visits Cambridge.
